job description
astrazeneca is looking for a sr. Network security engineer to assist on network projects with a persistent focus on automation. This team is the point of contact for all critical network issues in astrazeneca manufacturing sites and offices globally. Responsibilities include providing end-to-end support for the astrazeneca network infrastructure, including lan, wan, wireless lan, firewall, load balancer, and proxy services.
the sr. Network security engineer is part of the nre team in a scaled agile operating model. You will be responsible for facilitating network security projects, operations, and automation while monitoring and maintaining network security and platforms. You will ensure that changes to the network and infrastructure are planned, coordinated, approved, and implemented to meet agreed service provision dates.
additionally, the sr. Network security engineer will be responsible for problem management for our network security infrastructure, coordinating with other engineering and support organizations and vendors to drive solutions.
accountabilities
* conduct regular security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
* design and implement secure network architectures, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
* adhere to enterprise governance and review processes.
* follow enterprise itsm and cmdb processes.
* supervise and analyze security alerts using siem tools and respond to security incidents.
* collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop and implement iam policies and nac solutions.
* stay updated on the latest security threats and industry trends.
* ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and assist in audit processes.
requirements
* a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
* typically, 8-10 years of experience supporting large-scale enterprise-level network infrastructure.
* experience in network security with a solid understanding of security fundamentals and secure design principles.
* proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls (cisco, palo alto, etc.).
* experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems and siem tools.
* excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
* certifications (any of the below)
o cisco certified network professional/expert in security
o zscaler digital transformation administrator
o zscaler zero trust certified associate
o cisco certified cyberops associate or professional
o palo alto networks certified network security administrator (pcnsa)
o palo alto networks certified network security engineer (pcnse)
o check point certified security administrator (ccsa)
o check point certified security expert (ccse)
o certified network security professional (e.g., cissp, comptia security+)
desirable
* ccie, ccte+, or other industry-recognized expert-level certifications.
* experience as an escalation engineer or l3 network engineer.
* passion for working on core technology platforms.
* itil training/service management accreditation.
* ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams.
