*major accountabilities*:
create the environment to enable development of global platforms
- develop servant leaders leading by example, exhibiting the style in all areas of the work, training and positive reinforcement.
- orchestrate identifying the strategic skills required together with their level.
make sure that the skills gaps are immediately addressed through appropriate recruitment, redeployment &/or talent development actions
- execute development of the sensors, ecu and brackets teams by:
- encourage hiring best in class, motivated, engaged employees that display behavioral traits aligned with aptiv values and leadership competencies
- ensuring the execution of high introduction to the team, that will ensure that onboarding process is structured, consistent, and at the same time tailored to the skillset and experience of individual new joiners
- ensuring appropriate development opportunities to all members of the team by tailoring appropriate mix of timely stretch-assignments, arranging mentorship within & outside immediate organization, as well as encouraging and sponsoring individually matched training & education opportunities
- using the network as well as official processes to effectively develop talent across engineering organization
- preparing and being one of the leaders periodic talent review sessions which are aimed at aligning the development opportunities on broader product line level, and through that securing succession to key roles within engineering
- prepare staffing planning, which would be based on the knowledge of business requirements, newly won contracts, product roadmap, as well as deep understanding of current staffing levels, skillsets, and existing retention risks
- have a deep understanding of team's work (with particular focus on direct team members) by staying close to the people and their activities, as well as through development of visual performance & quality metrics
- create & ensure the appropriate use of agile workspaces
- ensure, training, coaching and mentoring of teams in scrum and supporting tools
- evaluate and manage people performance
- reward & promote team members according to their respective contributions
- promote culture of recognition
- promote, exhibit & reward transparency
- continuously remove impediments that are blocking team performance
- responsible for budget & capital for the department
- drive department competency excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfection
- build quality into practices on department level - support the quality through appropriate infrastructure & resources
- monitor consistency in executing product engineering processes and use of supporting tools
- oversee technical development of assigned components & platforms
- enable & encourage reuse & automation by creating a conducive environment for this type of activity
- stabilize capacity
- standardize pd operating processes and practices
- support start center activities
