*main purpose of job*
the primary objective of the global business intelligence (bi) lead role is to drive the adoption and standardisation of power bi across the organisation, establishing a bi centre of excellence and ensuring best practices for power bi administration, to enable data-driven decision-making and foster collaboration between global and local bi teams.
*key accountabilities*
- *manage and maintain the power bi platform*: oversee the power bi service platform to ensure it operates securely and efficiently, delivering reliable performance and data availability in line with agreed slas to meet the business's reporting needs.
- *lead reporting and visualisation strategy*: develop and implement a centralised bi function aligned with the organisation's data strategy and ipf's strategic goals, ensuring that business intelligence supports decision-making and drives business outcomes.
- *standardise dashboards and reports*: lead efforts to standardise power bi dashboards and reporting outputs across the organisation, ensuring consistency in data presentation and visualisation, which enhances user understanding and decision-making.
- *lead data modelling efforts*: oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data models that meet reporting and analytics needs, collaborating with data engineers and bi teams to ensure models align with business requirements and support the data strategy.
- *establish and manage a bi centre of excellence*: create and lead a bi centre of excellence to foster the adoption of best practices, standardisation, and continuous improvement in business intelligence development, ensuring high-quality data outputs across the organisation.
- *engage stakeholders and sub-bi teams*: build strong relationships with sub-bi teams in various regions, implementing a hub-and-spoke model to ensure collaborative working, information sharing, and alignment on reporting priorities across the organisation.
- *develop training and mentorship programmes*: design and deliver training programmes to upskill bi analysts, empowering teams across the organisation to leverage power bi effectively, fostering a data-driven culture through enhanced reporting capabilities.
