Job purpose
the hr generalist - mexico will be responsible for supporting the full spectrum of hr functions, including talent acquisition, payroll preparation, compliance with labor laws, and audits in mexico. This is an onsite role based in the guadalajara office, requiring strong knowledge of mexican labor laws, payroll processing, and hr best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
key responsibilities
* manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees. Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates.
* prepare and process monthly and special payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with mexican labor laws.
* oversee imss affiliation processes, including registrations, cancellations, and modifications.
* act as a point of contact for employees regarding hr policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
* manage employee relations issues and provide guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, and workplace conflicts.
* ensure adherence to mexican labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies. Support labor law audits and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
* assist in the development and implementation of hr policies and procedures. Educate, counsel, and coach employees on company policies, procedures, and programs.
* manage employee benefits programs and provide guidance on compensation-related inquiries.
* coordinate employee exits, ensuring compliance with legal and administrative processes. Conduct exit interviews and analyze data for trends, making recommendations for improvement.
* maintain accurate employee records and hr documentation in accordance with local labor regulations.
qualifications & experience
* bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
* 3+ years of hr experience, preferably in a multinational company.
* in-depth knowledge of mexican labor laws and employment regulations.
* experience in employee relations, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
* ability to work independently while collaborating with remote hr teams.
* excellent communication skills in english and spanish (both written and verbal).
* proficiency in hris systems, microsoft office, and data analysis tools.
* strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive hr matters with discretion.
