To maintain software, network accreditation, and certification for the draughon bombing and electronic attack range (dbear) threat control systems located on misawa air base and draughon training range. This endeavor supports a 13-hour flying window, 5 consecutive days a week in support of flying operations. Under the general direction of the dbear site manager, the network technician is responsible for:
* maintaining access control, auditing, configuration management, system interconnection, network accreditation, and maintaining documentation of multiple computer systems and associated equipment, to include accreditation processes and procedures for interlinked (multiple) threat systems, as prescribed by the dod cybersecurity requirements in accordance with dod 8500.01.
* operating midts/lvc (link 16) system, and have the ability to train military personnel on how to operate systems and equipment.
* perform as a comsec responsible officer and user of cryptographic key in materials and equipment.
requirements:
* minimum of 1-3 years in information assurance management, technology, or engineering, or equivalent technical education and military experience/ experience working in a military environment.
* knowledge of information assurance concepts, practices, and procedures.
* be able to recognize potential security violations, take appropriate action, and mitigate adverse impacts.
* apply instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform information assurance tasks.
* install, test, maintain, and upgrade ce operating systems software and hardware to comply with ia requirements.
* conduct a test of safeguards by following established test plans and procedures.
* technical, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills required must be able to obtain appropriate certification within 6 months of being assigned ia functions.
* dod security clearance is required. Must meet the requirements of an information assurance (ia) technical level ii technician as prescribed by dod 8570.01-m.
