key responsibilities:
1. delivery as per area budget:
o lead and set direction for the air & lcl dts sales team according to budget – both on delivering ocean volume and growing revenue and optimising profits.
o set, establish, and develop a team towards boosting double-digit air & lcl organic business growth.
o coach and drive sales team to sell and grow air & lcl business.
o probes and identifies customer needs and provides tailor-made solutions.
o understand the market local dynamics and translate that into business outcomes.
o elaborate, articulate, and follow up a short-long term strategy that responds to business objectives.
o research and analyse competitive and industry trends.
o entertain conversations with senior stakeholders and decision makers with larger impact and responsibility within our customers.
o maintain constant communication to our customers regarding changes in contracting, conditions, and rates.
o ensure that close won business opportunities translate into materialized business outcomes.
2. manage stakeholders across the area, region, and global functions:
o actively provide feedback to the direct transport sales head based on customer feedback and insights.
o establish routines with area heads of air & lcl to boost alignment and efficient commercial efforts.
o actively connect and engage with sales teams overseas to enhance network selling.
3. build and develop a best-in-class sales team:
o ensure succession plans are in place for key roles including own role.
o coach direct reports for success and development.
o manage team engagement.
