Responsibilities:
1. responsible for planning and purchasing finished products using the efficient erp system.
2. maintains the finished product warehouse in optimal occupancy conditions, ensuring a consistent flow of materials at all times.
3. follows up with accounts payable, quality, engineering, and warehouse regarding non-conforming material disposition.
4. ensures timely payment of invoices to suppliers and resolves discrepancies preventing these payments.
5. guarantees adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
6. responsible for communicating and coordinating recovery plans for potential shortages using the erp system and using projection tools applying effective expediting and escalation processes.
7. maintains the purchase order system, updating the erp system timely to keep information accurate at all times.
8. participates with engineering and quality departments in defining and implementing projects for new products and/or raw materials or changes in current products.
9. maintains effective communication with suppliers to guarantee continued supply in the most efficient use of resources.
10. ensures optimal use of transportation resources while keeping transportation expenses within established cost standards in the budget.
11. identifies projects that lead to cost reduction, inventory decreases, or process improvements.
12. establishes contact with customer service to resolve issues with customer orders and communicate inventory availability.
13. responsible for communicating inventory situations to customer service and marketing areas.
14. works in coordination with the sourcing area to establish long-term strategies with suppliers.
15. collaborates with project managers for the introduction and launch of new products.
education:
minimum: professional
ideal: postgraduate degree
related fields (if applicable): industrial engineering, computer systems engineering, international business administration
experience in previous positions:
minimum: buyer or planner in logistics or foreign trade (2 years)
ideal: buyer or planner in logistics or foreign trade (3 to 5 years)
specific knowledge:
minimum: knowledge of supply chain, purchasing raw materials and/or finished products, advanced computing, supplier management, finance, and long-term planning.
ideal: knowledge in administration, human resources management, requisition systems, and material planning through mrp. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels. Negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
