The accounting manager functions as lead accounting and controllership professional supporting the plant controller. They are responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of results and maintenance and protection of the company’s assets through balance sheet integrity and ensuring a strong control environment.
responsibilities:
* maintains a strong control environment and accurate financial statements in accordance with us gaap and company policy.
* managing a complete and thorough month-end and quarterly close process.
* ensuring full compliance and improvement to site internal controls and sarbanes-oxley (key controls) requirements.
* coordinate and schedule year end plant physical inventory for external warehouse and oversee and support cycle counting.
* maintain inventory control procedures and assist in their development.
* maintain and control fixed asset sub-ledger and monitor and review fixed asset expenditures, cip reviews, fixed asset audits and idle assets.
* provide leadership and support for manufacturing cost management.
* support plant accounts payable, statutory, tax and treasury procedures.
* proactively identifying business or accounting risks and implementing countermeasures where appropriate.
* support site internal audits assuring minimal findings and timely closure of countermeasure actions.
* being a strong example of integrity and ‘doing the right thing.
function as a strong business partner with the plant manager and operations team to provide reporting and transparency that drive to actionable results.
* preparing and managing actual, forecast, and budget scenarios throughout the course of the year.
* analyzing and interpreting plant performance, evaluating variances and assessing the effects on plant results.
* providing scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis in a business case format to help drive decisions.
* leading and / or participating in presentations to plant employees, plant management and to bu and corporate.
manages others by providing ongoing development, mentoring, and strong learning experiences by:
* providing effective leadership to staff, direct reports, and others.
* providing continuous coaching & feedback to drive team’s personal and professional development.
* manage and prioritization of work and assignments.
job requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance; cpa or mba a plus.
* sap and hfm experience a plus.
* 5-7 years finance/controllership experience within large/complex manufacturing sites.
* usgaap, sox & manufacturing cost experience.
