This position is for a dynamic, results driven senior engineer to join morse systems advanced manufacturing engineering (ame) team.
this position will work out of any of the morse manufacturing locations in mexico.
the ame team provides global engineering leadership around identification, development and deployment of new processes and/or equipment to manufacture and measure new and available products.
in this role you will work with multi-functional teams comprised of product design, program management, global supply chain, quality and plant engineering to ensure production of new and existing product in conformance to the expectations of safety, quality, cost and customer objectives.
you will facilitate localization into the appropriate global operations teams and provide global leadership in communication, implementation, coordination, and enforcement of the "plan of record" manufacturing strategies used to drive the morse system growth plan.

- key accountabilities
- gets results by leading the development of manufacturing processes and equipment concurrent with new product development insuring product performance specifications, cost targets, and timing are achieved.
- partner with local manufacturing engineering teams to address, build or advise on new, outstanding, and difficult (nuds) characteristics of our products and processes.
- use of financial and engineering information to develop efficient manufacturing equipment and processes and to improve costs estimates for business cases.
- act as a leader, using sound decision skills, for global operations to optimize equipment utilization and reduce capital spending.
provide mentorship and criteria to product design group, design for manufacturing and assemble (dfma), relocating underutilized equipment, improving cycle time, scrap, capital/tooling designs and labor costs of existing equipment.
use financial and engineering data to develop optimized manufacturing equipment as well as process.
- equipment and manufacturing process technical resource for customer program launches, shares lessons learned and standard methodologies, and establishes global benchmarks in aid to operations.
- agile learner and problem solver who is interested in manufacturing technologies projecting in high volume production, accepting risk to lead in first time situation.
- uses strong technical skills to be a resource for our global supply team.
may work in tandem to identify, develop or solve critical processing issues at the suppliers.
participates in design for value activities.
- motivates others and acts as a point person for the local business unit.
provide technical, language/cultural and communication support between ame and the operation as required.
- identify, articulate and communicate key trends pertaining to manufacturing market dynamics that has influence in the market expansion and our business unit.

- education/experience
- bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, industrial engineering.
masters preferred.
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability, preferable in automotive or automotive supplier industry, high volume production industrial manufacturing operations.
- understanding of basic engineering financials.
- solid understanding of vehicle system level components and functions is a plus.
- strong functional and technical skills with the ability to integrate in a multi-functional global team.
- recognized process expert with ability to convey/train knowledge to others.
assembly, resistance/laser welding, plastic injection molding process technologies knowledge preferred.
- experience in mechanical design, 3d modeling.
- electrical, hydraulic, plc basic skills are preferred.
- good command of pc, office tools.
- experience in metrology methods and measurement system analysis.
- good organizational skills including the capacity to prioritize, balance multiple projects simultaneously, and meet target dates.
- professional verbal and written communication skills.
- knowledge of project management software.
- strong experience with data analysis and structured problem-solving techniques.
minitab experience preferred.
- global experience working effectively with various geographical regions.
- confidence to work from remote/distance with multi-functional teams.
- ability to travel internationally 50% of the time.
- english proficiency required.
