the delivery manager project manager plays a critical role in orchestrating the delivery of software projects, managing teams, mitigating risks, and ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
responsibilities:
1. project planning, documentation, and scheduling: collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and teams to create detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, documentation, and resource requirements.
2. project monitoring and reporting: monitor project progress and performance metrics throughout the software development lifecycle. Generate regular reports, track key performance indicators (kpis), and provide insights to stakeholders on project status and health.
3. task assignment and monitoring: delegate tasks to teams based on their skills and expertise. Monitor task progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to keep projects on track.
4. team management: work with managing director, engineering manager, and qa lead to manage cross-functional teams involved in software development projects. Ensure that team members have clear roles and responsibilities, and the software development cycle is working effectively towards project goals.
5. resource allocation: monitor resource allocation by team effectively to ensure that projects are adequately staffed and resourced.
6. risk management: identify and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery, proactively addressing technical challenges, dependencies, and potential roadblocks.
7. quality assurance: work with the qa lead to ensure that software products meet quality standards and adhere to project requirements.
8. continuous improvement: drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and outcomes.
9. adaptation to change: remain flexible and agile in approach to address evolving needs and ensure successful project outcomes.
qualifications:
1. must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems, business, or related scientific/technical discipline (6 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
2. 7 plus years of project management experience, specializing in it infrastructure and operations.
3. project management professional (pmp) certification or equivalent.
4. ability to manage document library in confluence or similar.
5. demonstrated success applying the principles and practices of project management.
6. proficiency in timely and effective oral and written communication with both technical and non-technical users.
7. demonstrated experience with document editing tools such as ms office software, screen capture software, graphics packages, ms project, visio, etc.
8. ability to mentor less experienced team members.
9. detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
10. knowledge of atlassian, devops or similar tools.
