Quality supervisor fpc bangor is working with a large paper manufacturer in northern new england, looking for a quality supervisor.
responsibilities: actively supports and promotes safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors. Conducts a monthly safety meeting and performs safety audits.enforces policies regarding health and safety as well as environment and ensures that issues are dealt with as efficiently as possible so the work environment is safe for employees.provides leadership and guidance to salaried and hourly employees while promoting employee involvement and participation in problem solving and continuous improvement.ensures that hourly employees have adequate training to support activities of the department and fulfill future manpower requirements.ensures compliance with policies, procedures, rules, regulations and the collective agreement and implements appropriate measures as required.works closely with sales employees and customer service to ensure quality products are available to customers.researches quality issues and decides on the disposition of this inventory.supports tech services with quality issues and dealing with the customer.ensures department compliance with iso standards.attends and supports the daily mill production and participates in other meetings as necessary.assists with product stewardship.assists with food safety policy processes.is responsible for weekend coverage on a rotation basis.shall have responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). Designated personnel shall have defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.qualifications: bachelor of science in pulp and paper or chemical engineering with 4 years of manufacturing experience.strong communication, organization, and interpersonal relationship skills.
