we are searching for the best talent for senior ehs&s engineer to be in juarez, chih., méxico at the plant salvarcar. Purpose: leading occupational safety, and/or industrial hygiene and/or environmental support to a moderate size business location, serving as the health/safety/environmental contact for site; or lead safety, industrial hygiene, and/or ergonomics program component at a large, complex location or multiple locations. This may include providing management support to ees sites assisting conformation to iso (international organization for standardization) 14001 standard & j&j worldwide ehs standards as related to federal, state and local regulations. Under general supervision, provide leadership to site and management for the establishment and maintenance of robust processes to identify, evaluate and control industrial hygiene, ergonomic and/or safety risk in the workplace.
you will be responsible for: policies: know and comply with the policies and procedures of bwi related to the activities performed in the area of responsibility. Formation: complete the formation in the area of responsibility within the allowed time. This formation is necessary for the changes in the existing policies and procedures, for the new tasks and for the implementation of new policies and procedures. Complete periodical retraining required in areas like safety and environment. Safety: follow all the safety policies of the company and other safety measures in the work area. Promote safety to all associates in the work area. Environment: follow all the environment policies, local, state and federal requirements. Ehs&s senior engineer: can perform all or a combination of these responsibilities. Provide leadership as the key contact of health and safety as well as environment for the site and the management of the place of business of a moderate size; lead the safety and environment and industrial hygiene program in a large location or various locations; or provide ergonomics leadership to the site and the management in multiple locations of big businesses. Evaluate, plan and perform ergonomics programs in a place of business of a moderate size, safety at the place of work, industrial hygiene and/or environmental regulations; under general supervision, take projects that require advanced knowledge about safety at work, environment industrial hygiene and/or the ergonomics of the identification of potential risk for the analysis of risk level to the application of appropriate control measures. Develop and/or offer health and safety sensitization programs of technical formation and in support of the danger/risk profile of the company. This includes the association with the personnel of health services to complement and support the efforts to offer education and sensitization programs of intervention that promote healthy lifestyles. Ensure compliance with environmental local, state, federal and corporate regulations. Ensure the development of an approach to the matters of ergonomics management in compliance with the regulatory requirements and the j&j policy for safety at the place of work, industrial hygiene. Monitor the progress of the management action plans, providing leadership, technical support and professional experience to ensure the company complies with the business franchise and the site goals; ensure that all the records are maintained adequately and the reports are prepared/presented on time and manner. Facilitate the incident, injury and process of investigation of the illness; comply with all the measurable objectives of the process. Research, develop, justify and implement projects, processes and activities to reduce or contain costs, increase quality levels, or comply with safety and environment regulations. Support through evaluation to all the projects regarding the requirements of the environmental and safety programs. Perform ees internal audits through the maars process. Monitor the corrective actions of all the internal audits and ensure their closing. Annually evaluate and approve contractors. Responsibilities of supervision (all levels) responsible for performing revisions to the designs and evaluations of pre-validations to ensure the beginning of new processes, in regards to environment and safety. Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level. Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all company guidelines related to health, safety and environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties assigned as needed. Qualifications b.s. / m.s. in safety or industrial hygiene, environmental engineering/science, safety engineering/sciences or chemical engineering. 5+ years of relevant experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Business management – produce and maintain the schedules and budgets of the projects. Interface with associates and local, state and federal inspectors. Problem resolution skills. Precise and organized – generates all the reports required and record maintenance systems. Multitask – coordinates multiple tasks and deadlines. Knowledge of health and occupational safety, environment regulations at local, state and federal levels. Technical knowledge of the components of the industrial hygiene and safety program. Experience in the identification, evaluation and control of safety risks at the workplace. Creativity in developing approaches that use existing resources to confront challenges in the program components. Ability to manage multiple demands and develop innovative solutions to problems. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, influence, planning, organization and time management. Superior team player. Proficiency using ms office (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.).
