what you'll be doing:
to support the development and implementation of long-term vision / strategy for global raw ingredients sourcing through research and analysis. Supporting the ri sourcing team to ensure that avon’s spend on raw ingredients is sourced in an efficient, professional and cost-effective manner in order to create and sustain a competitive advantage.
key responsibilities:
1. support the development and implementation of global commodity sourcing strategies by the category sourcing managers / global director enabling sourcing to deliver best cost, innovation, service, quality and sustainability as well as improve service metrics to the avon representative in a dynamic and fast changing business environment.
2. responsible for supporting the supplier management process, moq/eoq optimisation, lead time revision, resolution of queries (invoices, supply issues, bo maintenance), supplier selection, supplier rating, supplier development, supplier reduction and supplier performance evaluation.
3. collect and analyse data on internal factors such as spend and customer requirement analysis.
4. collect and analyse data on external factors such as industry and market dynamics, and products/services trends.
5. perform supplier analysis including supplier financials and capabilities (products/ services, quality level, etc.), using available and defined sources of information.
6. perform calculation on industry & supplier cost models and tco model.
7. identify the right sources of information (market reports, internet sources, etc.) and set up the channels to get the right information to the right person.
8. support ri sourcing team on global supplier network capabilities, commodity/spend category trends and industry best practices.
9. support cross-category commodity teams to achieve cost reduction targets, and other value adding business requirements, while maintaining supply reliability and satisfying the business requirements.
10. support the ri global leads with presentation development including data collection and analysis, formatting and editing. Present key data to stakeholders to allow effective strategies to be developed.
11. responsible for the analysis and presentation of request for information (rfi) and request for proposal (rfp). Support preparation of fact-based negotiation strategies.
12. support the global leads with the preparation of the fact-based negotiation package.
13. provide support to category leads during the strategic sourcing process.
14. provide administrative support, including building and maintaining analytical reports, new supplier set up and regulatory and compliance requirements to support the ri sourcing team.
15. expected to interface with all levels of management, and create service tracking reports for beauty sourcing.
we'd love you to have:
1. proven analytical skill and ability is essential.
2. advanced knowledge of excel (pivot tables, formulas, analysis of large data sets) essential.
3. well-versed in use of powerpoint.
4. experience within procurement or intelligence, and/or a general understanding of the purchasing area is considered an asset, but is not a requirement.
5. working knowledge of mrp systems such as e1, as well as e-procurement systems (ariba) is a plus.
6. knowledge and understanding of cost drivers, their application to negotiations, developments of strategies, and cost improvement opportunities, is a plus but not a requirement.
7. understand basic and progressive financial tracking tools.
8. ability to interact professionally with all levels.
9. team player - ability to work in cross-functional teams.
10. very good communication skills, written and verbal (english is required, further languages useful).
11. ability to translate business strategy into clear actions, tactics and accountabilities.
12. able to work with little direction.
