*summary*:the inventory data analyst is a crucial role within the global inventory team.
this position is responsible for analyzing inventory data, developing reporting solutions, and supporting initiatives to optimize inventory management.
this position requires a strong blend of analytical, technical, and communication skills, focusing on leveraging data to drive improvements in inventory turns, tariff collections, and excess reduction within an ems (electronics manufacturing services) environment.
*essential duties and responsibilities*:- *inventory analysis and reporting*:- analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.- develop and publish periodic inventory metrics reports for management.- monitor and analyze key performance indicators (kpis) to evaluate the effectiveness of inventory initiatives.- interpret data and summarize findings into actionable metrics and graphs.- create dashboards and reports from bigquery data using google sheet, connected sheets, and/or data studio.- *system support and development*:- support global inventory management initiatives and plant operations by collecting and consolidating import tariffs.- analyze end-user business needs to deliver optimal solutions for monitoring and improving inventory turns and excess reduction.- develop/code, debug, test (manual/automated), and document system changes and new subsystems in compliance with development methodology and security policies.- collaborate with it to design and implement data-driven strategies to support business objectives.- *collaboration and communication*:- communicate effectively with business users (e.g., finance, logistics) to gather requirements, provide updates, and present findings.- educate end-users on newly introduced reports and dashboard interfaces.- work collaboratively with plants around the world.
*qualifications*:- *education*:- bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, supply chain management, or a related field.- *experience*:- 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst or software developer, preferably in ems industries within a supply chain or logistics environment.- *knowledge*:- proficiency in programming languages such as java, python, or similar.- familiarity with google apis for programmatic access to bigquery and google sheets, connected sheets, and/or data studio.- advanced proficiency in excel.- experience with cloud platforms and data warehousing concepts for storing and reporting on large datasets.- understanding of supply/demand planning concepts, including drp (distribution requirements planning) and planning parameters.- excellent oral and written communication skills in english
