*your position with cochlear*
as the vice president of embedded software, you will lead and deliver the strategy for development of the product plan, delivery mechanisms and people capability for embedded software globally for the acoustics and cochlear implant portfolios so that cochlear releases products which exceed customer needs and meet regulatory and quality compliance requirements; supports research and technology projects; and minimises costs to innovate and deliver.
you will drive value and create new opportunities from the collaboration and relationship with gn hearing, apple, google and other third-party partners.

- ability to deliver through scaled agile processes interfacing with hardware teams driving multiple projects on various time horizons.
- senior leadership as a manager of people managers who will continue to build the group from the current exception team of more than 40 people.
*key accountabilities*
- accountable for the strategic direction of firmware and signal processing within the embedded software space and working closely with senior management to set strategy, priorities, direction and capability requirements.
- understand market dynamics and needs to deliver on the corporate strategy and provide opportunities for growth and share gains through embedded software functionality, including by leveraging standard bodies and external partnerships.
- collaborate with r&d management, marketing and others to support the development of an innovative and inspirational five-year product and services plan and future strategy.
*responsibilities and scope*
- ensures a unified approach to embedded software to create a global team that collaborates to deliver on cochlear strategic goals through an architecture that supports current and future needs of implant and sound processor development and research and technology needs.
- ensures consistency and interoperability across firmware and signal processing deliverables across products and technologies by leveraging architectural
