reports to: chief, general accounting
we are looking for a sr general accountant who can execute accounting transactions for the north america business, in accordance with gaap, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly stated. Participate in the month end and year end closing process as required.
Core responsibilities:
- assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate expenditure data is available for the us/canadian business as required.
- book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
- prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control polices are being followed.
- analyze gr/ir accounts for ingredion u.s & ingredion canada companies, ensuring that good receipts are effectively cleared against the vendor invoices in order to avoid: duplicate invoices payments, duplicate grs affecting inventories, grs with price discrepancies, etc.
- perform account maintenance when required
- tulsa accounting process review monthly presentation.
- perform account analysis, variance analysis and other projects as requested by manager.
- identify, initiate and develop system changes with information technology to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.
- interact with and support team members. Participate in group problem solving and team activities.
- clearly identify internal customers and internal functions to ensure customer satisfaction both at scc and business units specially with plants
- conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process
- advanced & fluent english is a must.
- ideally 4+ years of significant experience in general accounting, accounts payable, financial analysis, reporting or auditing within manufacturing entities in a multinational environment and public companies.
- bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- intercompany transactions experience is a plus.
- demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions and make and support decisions to resolve problems and take advantage of opportunities.
- proven proficiency in the use of ms office suite software programs (excel advance, word, etc)
- experience working with sap, fico module
