sr advanced mechanical engineer level iii
mission: lead and coordinate engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, perform equipment selection, define and mentor on bill of materials and product models configurations, and perform materials ordering following project plans and schedules on medium and high complexity projects, working closely with supervisors.
perform mechanical design activities under the supervision of a mechanical engineering lead on various project sizes and complexities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Lead on-site commissioning to ensure proper equipment distribution within the building and appropriate process flow.
main accountabilities:
1. technical contribution: coordinate mechanical engineering drawings with specialists using cad. Review layouts for material handling flow, support bom definition, and meet manufacturing & customer schedules. Provide training during site commissioning and support continuous improvement of design processes through lessons learned feedback.
2. planning and control: deliver assignments on time and within quality standards for 2d/3d cad work. Follow work plans and budgets, troubleshoot, and support activities.
3. processes and tools: ensure accurate application of standard design practices in drawings and 3d models. Use standard procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements. Report inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
4. risk and opportunity management: lead and train in conducting risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning, following mitigation guidelines for equipment distribution phases.
5. customer interaction: engage with internal and external customers during project reviews and support requests.
qualifications: over 10+ years of industrial experience. Degrees in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or related fields. Must have a professional license and/or cedula, and a valid driver’s license.
