job purpose
borgwarner powerdrive systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a research and development controller (r&d controller). The r&d controller will be responsible to support the daily accounting and finance operations of the r&d site, drive monthly forecasts and budget, as well as month end processes. This role requires an individual with strong leadership, attention to detail and continuous improvement focus.
key responsibilities
* support the daily accounting and finance operations of the r&d site.
* drive monthly forecast and yearly budget process by cost center and project with a focus on continuous accuracy improvement. Upload forecast and budget to onestream.
* perform month-end processes journal entries, request invoices, upload to onestream.
* prepare reports on r&d project costs and performance. Analyses r&d spending trends and identify areas for improvement.
* fixed assets responsible for the r&d site support the engineering team to get capex approvals, oversee project spending and forecast, handle capitalization and submit monthly reconciliations.
* support the accounting of travel expenses and travel credit cards for the site.
* closely work with hr, it and the site manager to manage site costs.
* collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
* ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
* identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
what we’re looking for
* bs degree in finance, administration, industrial engineering, accounting or related field.
* 5 years relevant experience
* high excel proficiency (macro knowledge not required)
* we are looking for a dynamic individual that can identify opportunities and work on continuous improvement and drive results.
* works well in group settings and has strong communication skills.
* experience with sap preferred
* onestream knowledge not required; it’s a plus.
* experience in automotive supplier industry preferred.
* good problem-solving skills.
