purpose of the function:
the senior electronic engineer will lead the diagnostic area, ensuring operational excellence, reducing defects and failures, and strengthening the focus on product quality. They will develop competency analyses of current technicians and advanced training plans in electronics. Additionally, they will conduct failure analyses and improve diagnostic methodologies to create development plans for personnel analyzing high voltage power supply units. They will also execute a strategic plan to continuously improve knowledge, skills, and the learning environment in a mid-size, high-mix multinational engineering and manufacturing organization like spellman hv.
the senior electronic engineer will also perform technical activities to solve component engineering issues, electrical design, and add value to spellman products.
they will provide daily technical expertise to team members at all spellman business sites. They will support the definition and implementation of new features according to product requirements and customer expectations. They will work closely with the engineering, repair, and sales teams to address new customer requests and concerns. They will collaborate with key stakeholders at the onset of project planning activities and provide critical information for all spellman products.
principal responsibilities:
1. calibration and analysis of high voltage sources.
2. analysis of subassemblies/manufactured units.
3. evaluation of electronic components.
4. propose and generate engineering changes.
5. analysis and solution of problems in pilot runs, production, and customer returns.
6. provide feedback to the corporate engineering team.
7. collaborate with the client's technical teams.
8. work with planning and purchasing to identify substitute components.
9. create experiments (doe) and generate detailed failure analysis reports.
10. implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
11. training and technical support for area personnel and related departments.
12. development and implementation of new testing methods/equipment.
13. monitoring of established kpis.
14. generate daily report of analyzed material.
15. detect and establish continuous improvements.
16. perform and approve deviation to testing processes and products.
17. comply with radiation safety functions and the company's code of conduct.
18. comply with the health, safety and environment policy, following the procedures and work instructions applicable to his/her activities for the participation in the established objectives and goals.
competences / abilities:

6. minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing processes and 8 years in a similar position.
7. knowledge in operational amplifiers, digital and analog circuits, reading and interpretation of electronic schematics, failure analysis, switching power supplies, and high voltage systems.
8. advanced english (80%).
9. knowledge and understanding in environmental & quality management systems in their current versions (e.g., iso 14001, 9001).
10. practical knowledge in the use of laboratory test and measurement equipment, test setups, safety practices, etc.
11. knowledge of power electronics simulation tools.
12. general knowledge in all core fields (power conversion, electronics, electromagnetics, control hardware, firmware and software, thermal, mechanical, packaging optimization for high voltage applications, insulation systems, and materials).
