requirements:
1. bachelor degree in related field (human resource management) preferred
2. professional human resources (phr) or senior professional in human resources (sphr) certification preferred
3. 8 years of practical experience in human resources
4. conversational english

summary of position:
to develop and maintain an employee relations climate that creates and permits a stable and productive labor force. To manage and coordinate all functions of employee relations, including employment, compensation and benefits, training and development, and manpower planning/staffing.
key accountabilities:
1. selects, trains, develops and organizes a collaborative staff to perform and meet departmental responsibilities and objectives effectively.
2. provides leadership in the establishment and maintenance of employee relations that will assist in attracting and retaining a desirable and productive labor force.
3. responsible for hiring, which includes application/resume review, scheduling interviews, interviewing for all levels of personnel, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired.
4. develops, conducts and oversees training programs, continuously monitoring the effectiveness of plant training programs.
5. responsible for the performance management and development of the staff.
6. coaches and manages the plant operations sales team to ensure continued professional development and consistent success.
7. assures that company employment, safety, labor relations, personnel and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws, including the maintenance of necessary files.
8. conducts or participates in new employee orientation and onboarding programs when required.
9. maintains general control methods, records and files as required for effective personnel functions.
10. monitors and reports key indicators; develops action plans to correct unfavorable metrics and reports progress during management review meetings.
11. manages the communication process to inform employees of all changes in personnel policies and counsels employees on personnel policies and related issues.
12. ensures solutions and appropriate reactions to complaints received from salaried and hourly employees.
13. manages and oversees all plant unemployment claims; represents the company for any unemployment claims.
14. manages and oversees all workers' compensation claims and injury reports; represents the company at workers compensation hearings.
15. responsible for improving plant safety performance and key indicators, striving to eliminate workplace hazards and reduce ergonomic concerns while working with department managers to improve the overall safety record of the plant.
16. conducts monthly safety committee meetings.
17. maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
18. performs all other functions as required; includes any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work.
