Molex, a leader in innovation and manufacturing, is seeking a passionate and skilled buyer to join our global shared plants (gsp) division in guadalajara. As a buyer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, working alongside planning, inventory accuracy coordinators, production line supervisors and leaders, program managers, the warehouse team, finance, the quality team, the sourcing team, the commodities team, among others.
what you will do
1. master the erp system to place, confirm, push, pull, and cancel purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate actions.
2. oversee the entire lifecycle of raw materials, from po placement to release from quality management.
3. build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, handling escalations and ensuring on-time material supply.
4. collaborate with inventory control to manage inventory needs and maintain purchasing parameters on erp.
5. lead efforts in lean practices and kaizen methodology to drive continuous improvement.
6. interface with finance and ap teams to resolve pricing discrepancies and ensure smooth payment processes.
7. supplier training on navigation of molex tools.
who you are (basic qualifications)
1. a solid educational background is essential.
2. proven experience in procurement, with hands-on erp experience and a knack for problem-solving using tools like ishikawa and the 5 whys.
3. excellent written and verbal communication skills in english (80% proficiency).
4. advanced excel skills and familiarity with microsoft office suite.
5. a proactive, organized, and team-oriented individual who can work independently and adapt quickly.
6. exposure to working with global suppliers and a keen understanding of sourcing strategies.
what will put you ahead
1. experience with sap and power bi is a plus.
