position summary:
the finance manager is an important member of the operations team and will be a key partner to the plant manager and the finance director of na operations by managing financial risks, financial planning and forecasting, and financial records for two manufacturing plants. Provides hiring, promotion, and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
The finance manager is responsible for (i) oversees the internal controls of the plants, (ii) works to improve productivity and efficiency, (iii) provides leadership in budget and forecast development, (iv) manages the capital budget, (v) provides financial and operational monitoring and control of cost savings projects, and (vi) produces reports and oversee the analysis of data and budget administration.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- partners with plant management on the development of operating reviews, annual operating plans, and monthly forecast processes. Implements financial plans and policies for the plant. Partners with business unit teams to continuously improve strategies and drive business results.
- develops forecasting models and identifies potential areas of opportunities and risks. Prepares business plans, including the annual budget process, and all additional periodic forecasts requested by corporate.
- performs a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, providing project teams with financial guidance and assistance
- leads and participates directly with the monthly close processes and ensures the site is in alignment with corporate policies and practices. Analyzes variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions.
- support plant manager and 3 bu's in developing bur presentations, site key metrics, site financials, and ad-hoc reports in alignment with the commercial segment's requirements.
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies & procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to internal and external auditors.
Manage all accounting operations including g/l, inventory/cost accounting, fixed asset accounting, and revenue recognition.
- prepares forecasts of plant's income statements, and inventories. Must work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, bu, and segment objectives.
- provides proactive/unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental and site leaders used to drive business decisions.
- collaborates with plant manager, plant key staff, and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis.
- monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risks. Ensures proper accounting per u.s. Generally accepted accounting principles as well as local statutory requirements.
- leads projects and directly participates with efforts that improve twc and gross profit.
Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.

required education/ training and/ or experience:
- bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years' experience minimum in industrial or global manufacturing organization
accounting certification preferred (ex. Cpa, aca)
- high level of proficiency with major erp systems (oracle preferred) and major financial consolidation systems (hyperion preferred).
- high level of proficiency with ms excel, and with bi analytical tools.
- public accounting firm 2+ years' experience preferred
travel: minimal travel outside of juarez required.
