basic function
under the supervision of the industrial engineering and quality manager, this position is responsible for coordinating the quality assurance activities to ensure that products meet specified quality requirements through pwa & ufr indicators. Also, responsible for the incoming inspection area, ensuring that the materials used in packed pieces meet the kohler standards. In addition, manage the quality laboratory for dimensional and functional testing as required for current production and new product introduction and calibration service for all the critical equipment utilized in the plant.
specific responsibilities
1. management of pwa area for final packed audit, ensuring that the products meet the quality standards according to global aesthetic standard – vitreous division.
2. responsible for % pwa and ufr indicators, ensuring to meet the objectives planned. Weekly and monthly reports must be delivered to industrial engineering and quality manager including preventive and corrective actions to meet the goals.
3. carry out weekly and monthly meetings with general supervisor of fpp, industrial engineering and quality manager, and sr. Global manager of quality to execute action plans to reduce % pwa and ufr indicators.
4. organize weekly pwa management audit with all general supervisors and managers to audit current production pieces and establish action plans to improve the quality of the production.
5. responsible for certification of 1f and 2f inspectors of fpp area, according to the global aesthetic standard – vitreous division and validate what has been learned through an r&r test.
6. manage and coordinate incoming inspection area, guaranteeing that direct materials are inspected according to technical drawings and no critical characteristics are affected before releasing to production.
7. manage quality laboratory, ensuring that a daily plan is being followed, testing current production pieces and new products in dimensional and performance criteria.
8. ensure that standard procedures are followed in quality laboratory when performing dimensional and performance tests.
9. coordinate product verification in quality lab for new product introduction, dimensional and performance tests, working alongside ndp and npi engineers.
10. work alongside npi engineer to analyze pieces that are outside the kohler standard and propose a solution or improvement for the product and/or current process.
11. manage internal calibration service for all critical equipment in the plant and establish a verification frequency depending on equipment wear.
12. provide support to all areas in the plant to reduce quality defects and guarantee best practices are implemented.
13. ensure that sops are standardized and followed in pwa, incoming inspection, and qa laboratory.
14. develop associates for improved performance in current roles, higher engagement, and promotion capability in the future, complying with mexican government requirements.
15. comply with the health and safety roles and responsibilities established for this position.

education and experience requirements
education:
engineering degree.
experience:
preference for 2-5 years of related experience in implementing quality systems.
preference of ceramic vitreous knowledge.
formation:
- management of personnel.
- knowledge of microsoft windows-based software tools.
- ability to professionally communicate in english (priority).
- preferred knowledge of iso 9001: 2015 and 17025.
- use of work methodologies: procedures, work instructions, standards (asme, nom, csa).
- laboratory management.
- basic metrology knowledge.
- reading comprehension of plans and dimensional measurements.
- warranty management.
- problem-solving methodology (pdca, 5 whys, 8d, a3, ishikawa, shainin).
