basic function
under the direction of the mgr- ehs & security, is responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of safety, hygiene, and ergonomic programs at the facility.
specific responsibilities
1. coordinate the efforts of the safety committee.
2. coordinate the efforts of the ergonomics committee.
3. participate in the incidents investigation process.
4. provide follow-up to the implementation of the corrective actions derived from the incidents investigation process.
5. provide training to the associates involved in the incidents investigation process.
6. perform the incidents analysis.
7. develop the planned safety inspections.
8. participate in the safety inspection process.
9. provide follow-up to the implementation of the corrective actions to eliminate/control the hazards identified through the safety inspection process.
10. provide training to the associates involved in the safety inspection process.
11. participate in the annual corporate compliance inspections.
12. provide follow-up to the completion of the annual corporate compliance inspections.
13. perform the ppe assessment of the job positions.
14. participate in the creation/review of the job safety analysis (sop/jsa).
15. provide training to the associates involved in the sop/jsa process.
16. participate in the certification of the drivers of pivs.
17. maintain up to date the log of the certified drivers of pivs.
18. provide training to the associates involved in the lo/to process.
19. maintain up to date the log of the associates authorized to apply the lo/to process.
20. participate in the change analysis process.
21. provide follow-up to the implementation of the safety/hygiene/ergonomics recommendations derived from the change analysis process.
22. conduct an ergonomics evaluation of the workstations.
23. coordinate the industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, heat stress, etc.).
24. maintain up to date the safety/ergonomics metrics.
25. carry out the safety, hygiene, and ergonomics orientation for the new associates.
26. provide periodical refreshment training on safety, hygiene, and ergonomics to all associates.
27. develop the required safety, hygiene, and ergonomics procedures.
28. promote the implementation of the corporate safety, hygiene, and ergonomics requirements.
29. promote the compliance with the legal requirements related to safety, hygiene, and ergonomics.
30. promote the implementation of continuous improvement projects related to safety, hygiene, and ergonomics.
31. address associates' safety, hygiene, and ergonomics concerns/issues as necessary.
32. comply with the health and safety roles and responsibilities established for this position.
skills/requirements
relationships and contacts
1. reports to mgr- ehs & security.
2. frequent contact with the production and maintenance general supervisors.
3. daily contact with the supervisors/foremen.
4. daily contact with the medical service personnel.
5. moderate contact with government institutes and safety equipment vendors.
education and experience requirements
education: preference bachelor’s degree.
experience: preference 4 - 7 years’ work experience in safety, hygiene, and ergonomics.
formation: preference english. Preference knowledge of microsoft windows based software applications.
