the role
the sr. Manager, it program management, is both a senior leader and an individual contributor within the north america it pmo. The key focus areas for this role are leading a team of program and project managers, building team capabilities and professional growth, assigning and managing resource allocation, defining and implementing a digitization & agile strategy, and leading key enterprise-wide initiatives.
what you’ll do
* directly lead a team of 8 to 12 program and project managers.
* own the development planning for all program and project managers within the broader team.
* prepare and execute the team’s training strategy.
* in partnership with the director of it pmo, develop and communicate a clear capability path outlining the skills and behaviors required to grow project management skillset.
* own the planning and assignment of program and project managers to projects.
* in partnership with the director of it pmo, define a digitization & agile strategy and own the execution.
* lead large-scale enterprise-wide initiatives, managing a cross-functional team comprised of local, regional and global resources, ensuring delivery is within scope, timeline and company-defined budget variance.
* support the director of it pmo in managing the department’s annual budget ensuring that all financial targets are met.
* build relationships with business and it leaders, program/project sponsors, and local, regional and global colleagues across nestle.
* other activities as directed by the director of it pmo.
minimum qualifications
* bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 15+ years of experience in it and business/industry.
* 10+ years of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs, including agile projects and programs.
* must have expert financial acumen, managing budgets of upwards of five million dollars.
* advanced leadership skills and experience with end-to-end mindset ownership & driving proactive approach to ensuring successful program/project deliverables.
* experience managing cultural diversity and understanding how to work with a variety of cultures effectively.
* ability to quickly learn the interworking of a complex organization to ensure the team receives the level of support and attention needed.
* advanced english communication skills (written and verbal) to appropriately and effectively articulate status and concerns at all levels in the organization.
* expert facilitation skills and critical thinking skills to effectively manage and resolve issues in a cross-functional environment.
* expert ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and dynamically prioritize work for the program/project team.
* experience working in a matrix organization in a global environment with virtual teams including external partners.
* experience in managing change/transitions.
* pmp and agile certifications are desired.
* substantial consulting leadership experience is a plus.
