who will you be working with?
freight equipment, gemsr a wabtec company, located in apodaca. Is a company that manufactures traction motors, grid blowers, combos.
how will you make a difference?
* uphold priorities of safety, quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and leadership.
* co-ordinate activities with other departments to achieve a high-quality product to ensure customer satisfaction.
as a member of the quality team, you will be responsible for leading all elements of manufacturing quality in your assigned areas.
what do we want to know about you?
* strong customer focus, able to relay and operationalize a genuine sense of urgency.
* demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving experience.
* experience testing and troubleshooting locomotive electrical and mechanical systems.
* strong computer and data analysis skills including intermediate excel.
* ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams.
* ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels.
* experience with assembly, electrical, test, and welding processes, including ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
* experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering role, with increasing responsibility.
* experience with ppap or similar part qualification processes.
* statistically literate and familiar with six sigma quality concepts and tools.
* knowledge of electrical testing.
* knowledge of iso 9001 /aar section j / eac standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques; certified auditor.
what will your typical day look like?
* lead and comply with ehs & quality requirements in accordance with wabtec policy and procedures.
* conduct, support and coordinate internal and external audits and prepare audit reports that are clear and concise.
* confirm the sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence to support audit findings and conclusions.
* conduct problem investigations using root cause analysis (a3 methodology) and work collaboratively with the team to identify and implement corrective actions.
* conduct first article inspection/part approvals using standard measurement practices.
* address non-conformance reports (ncmr's) to drive and facilitate corrective & preventative actions.
* create a quality defect/punch list and track closure of all items to ensure all products are free from defects, meeting customer expectations before leaving the manufacturing facility.
* interpret customer contracts, specifications, engineering drawings, standards, and code of practices.
* proficient in technical document writing (reports, procedures, instructions, work standards, process mapping).
* interface with internal departments, customers, and suppliers to resolve issues and achieve customer satisfaction.
* implement and maintain management programs and systems.
* data analysis and trend identification and taking relevant improvement action.
* track cost of poor quality (copq) and reduction projects.
* create, modify and record inspection & test plans (itp)/ control plans.
* cost out projects.
