our client is a global private equity fund with a solid presence in the industrial real estate throughout mexico. The fund has created an exciting new position as a deputy controller. You will have an opportunity to lead a team overseeing day-to-day operations. The role is based in mexico city or mexico city. what the job involves
* assist in the preparation and review of quarterly, and year-end financial statements under ifrs
* ensure timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial information
* manage the monthly and annual audit reports and documents
* assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process
* track payments against budget and forecasts
* review and analyse existing policies and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
* create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to senior management
* review compliance reporting
* supervise and develop staff (establish performance standards and expectations for staff and review work assignments both in-progress and when completed)
* manage external consultants, service providers, and commercial counterparties, including auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors
who we are looking for
* solid experience in accounting management, tax and/or financial reporting. Knowledge of the real estate sector is desirable
* ample knowledge about ifrs, international accounting, mex gaap, and tax
* bachelor's degree in accounting
* experience building and leading high performing teams
* exceptional interpersonal and team leadership skills
* fluency in english is mandatory
