*summary*:
as the senior director, global business development - food processors you will develop and execute global food processors segment strategy aligned with our purpose driven strategy and aspirations that will drive global business growth.
*essential duties & responsibilities*:
- developing and executing overall segment strategies.
- be a steward of the griffith purpose and values in all external and internal actions and activities aligned with the business.
- develop and execute strategic customer business (account) plans to drive segment profitability.
- achieve planned revenue, operating profit, and related objectives.
- ability to plan and manage at the strategic and tactical levels.
- lead in the development and execution of the global segment sales infrastructure; manage the overall sales talent management process including development of individual sales personnel plans, ongoing evaluation of sales talent aligned with required responsibilities, implementation of change when required based on performance.
- lead in the execution of global customer bid contracts pricing actions.
- leads and aligns with regional presidents and executive teams to communicate strategy, forecast, and margin improvement, resource needs, and client communication.
- using targeted bi and sales tools (crm), manage the sales process which includes overall sales financial management, sales training, account plan development/execution, segment performance measurement and management.
- build structure, develop, and manage overall sales teams, direct management and indirect management of sales.
- develop and maintain strong global customer relationships by being involved through top level contact at current and potential new customers.
- support in the organization and strategic management of solutions aligned with complex sales presentations, proposals, rfps, contracts and negotiations.
- manage and ensure achievement of the overall sales function annual budget.
- ensure a solutions approach by sales personnel to drive growth using targeted core capabilities and new capabilities where identified as opportunities.
- internally manage, in collaboration with supply chain, achievement of targeted otif customer levels by leading customer forecasting and ensuring use of processes to manage inventory, new product commercialization and product elimination and obsolescence.
- communicates internally with all necessary functions to exchange technical information and project timelines.
*qualifications*:
- minimum of bachelor's degree in business, marketing, food science, nutrition, or related technical disciplines
- minimum of 10 years of experience in consultative sales and sales management
- exceptional track record of developing and implementing sales strategies that consistently meet or exceed planned objectives.
- experience in sales of customized product offerings and approach to creating these products using a multifunctional team approach.
- experience in brand strategy, development and consumer engagement to drive brand growth.
- understanding of global retail trends & markets.
- global knowledge and/or relationship with key cpg customers outside of the united states.
- proficiency in microsoft office applications - word, excel, powerpoint, outlook.
- strong and proven organization and communications skills.
ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
- proven record of developing/improving sales infrastructure and processes.
- strong financial analytic skills with proven ability to develop plans to meet targeted goals.
- demonstrated experience as a leadership team member that emphasizes collaborative decision making and a high degree of coordination between functions.
