The accounts payable specialist will be responsible for processing and managing all invoices received for payment, ensuring accurate and timely payments. This role involves managing the day-to-day accounts payable function, reconciling accounts, and supporting the finance department in achieving financial accuracy.
key responsibilities:
* process invoices, verifying their accuracy, appropriate approval, and compliance with company policies.
* manage the accounts payable inbox and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
* reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
* prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
* reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure accurate reporting in the general ledger.
* assist with month-end closing and prepare necessary reports.
* monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
* maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
* prepare analysis of accounts and assist with audits as necessary.
* assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
requirements
requirements:
* proven working experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
* strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
* proficiency in ms office, especially excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., quickbooks, sap, oracle).
* high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
* excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* ability to work independently and as part of a team.
preferred qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* experience with erp systems.
* familiarity with vendor management processes.
* knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including tax compliance and reporting.
