Purchasing specialist indirect - logistics

what is the job about?
as a purchasing specialist indirect logistics, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high customer satisfaction on behalf of group purchasing as a business partner for the group functions and business stakeholders. You will conduct value based sourcing within the category, focusing on continuous optimization of operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability delivered from suppliers.
this position reports directly to our chief category manager logistics and will operate out of the brookshire, tx, or san luis potosi, mx facility in a hybrid function.
your main responsibilities:
provide support related to sourcing and relationship activities in close cooperation with the category managers.
strategic sourcing process related activities:
* assist in the development of sourcing strategies.
* implement the sourcing strategy using existing purchasing tools.
* prepare data and fact packs for supplier negotiations.
* conduct market intelligence research and analysis to understand key cost drivers, market trends, and industry best practices.
* support value and savings delivery for the category.
* optimize the supplier portfolio.
* manage the tendering process.
* assist in the creation and management of contracts.
* ensure data transparency and reporting activities.
* perform all activities related to sap tm, s2p, and support the coe logistics.
supplier relationship management related activities:
* prepare and facilitate business reviews.
* define and maintain preferred supplier lists.
* assess and develop supplier performance.
we imagine that you have:
* relevant commercial/technical education
* minimum 2 to 5 years professional experience within logistics sourcing
* knowledge of best practices and relevant systems for business support
* good communication skills
* analytical and strategic thinking; knowledge of excel and/or power bi is preferred
* result- and action-oriented
* expected travel is approximately max 10%.
please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in the usa or mexico without support.
