mandatory analyst
objective
overall summary of the job:
the hsbc custody asset services department is responsible for the processing of dividends, coupons and mandatory/voluntary corporate actions related to equity and fixed income products through the lifecycle of the corporate event.
this role is primarily responsible for mandatory corporate actions for us equity and fixed income products
activities
primary responsibilities/essential functions:
this role is responsible for mandatory corporate for us equity and fixed income products.
- requires strong understanding of us corporate action events - including, mandatory events such as mergers, conversions, tenders, spin-offs, stock dividends and splits
- strong understanding of tax consequences for mandatory events including 302c and nra
- strong understanding or market practice around claims and counterparty payments
- knowledge of dtc processing, ca web and smarttrack, postedge
- ability to create wire payments in swift message format types mt202, mt103, mt599
- knowledge of swift messaging is a plus, primarily mt564/565/566/567/568 messages
- act as liaison with internal/external business partners
- review cash/stock record reconciliations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution on breaks
requirements
knowledge and skill requirements:
- computer literacy, intermediate knowledge of ms excel a must.
working knowledge of ms outlook and word.
- must be detailed oriented, good problem solver, should have good communication skills
- must have strong overall knowledge of us domestic equity markets, with knowledge of foreign dividends - mainly canada and europe.
minimum of 3 years experience in processing dividends, and 1 year of corporate actions
