Job title: it compliance and financial management lead (mexico based)

primary purpose: under the general direction of the americas is director, the incumbent provides leadership and is responsible for the day to day of it governance, compliance, and it financial management functions. He / she executes operation risk programs in the americas designed to ensure quality of services, improve operations, mitigate risks, and maximize returns. Ensures that appropriate methods and tools for the planning, development, testing, operation, management and maintenance of systems are adopted and used effectively throughout it organization in the americas. This position will help drive awareness and adherence to information security policies and standards. He / she will assist with it expenditures analysis to improve services, costs, and optimize investments. The position has stewardship of it assets and will facilitate the recovery of costs-based service level agreements with vendors.
essential functions:
* it governance, compliance & financial management lead day-to-day (60% of the time).
* accountable for the day-to-day of it governance, compliance, and it financial management processes.
* recommend, design, implement and monitor solutions to improve it controls, policies, and procedures.
* lead remediation efforts when necessary to determine scope of impact, corrective action and executive reporting efforts.
* assist with the coordination of external and internal audit requests.
* implement segregation of duties framework, collaborate with finance to define risk rules and monitor compliance across multiple erp.
* controls, tracks, and updates the receipt, identification, categorization, recording and documentation of all it assets for all hardware, software, and infrastructure assets.
* actively manage and support all it contract procurement activity. Track software and contract obligations to ensure compliance, and timely renewals. Use data to provide trend analysis and assist in determining potential future licensing needs including vendor slas. Assist in managing the licensing true ups.
* collect, analyze and report it financial data and kpis.
* interface with other internal functions like operations, business systems, help desk, and group it ensuring the proper coordination and hand off of projects and support.
* strategy & governance (35% of the time).
* assist with the development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans, documentation and testing.
* facilitate collaborative partnership, seek consensus for it objectives, kpis and ensure best practices.
* maintain awareness of changes in group standards and practices and validate accuracy of procedures across the americas and update accordingly.
* stay up to date and informed on developing regulatory concerns and changing it and information security and privacy data trends.
* champions the use of sound systems development methodology (sdlc) as well as the use of documentation and change management standards and policies.
* act as the liaison between process stakeholders and information technology to identify and realize continuous improvement opportunities.
* organize and execute projects within the areas of responsibility. Assign and manage the work of third parties supporting governance and compliance programs.
* people development (5% of the time).
* effectively coach and manage third parties under responsibility.
knowledge and experience:
* four (4) year degree related to information technology and/or combination finance experience.
* five (5) years of experience in the information systems field with previous project management experience.
* good understanding of technical environments and cloud platforms.
* considerable experience in aspects of the application development life cycle and broad understanding of current technology enables.
* two (2) years of relevant work experience in compliance, risk, or audit processes.
* effective in planning and organizing work, efficient in work habits, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management techniques, including project planning and estimations, project budgeting, staffing, project control techniques, and status reporting.
* present a positive, professional image; good leadership and interpersonal skills required.
* effective communication and listening skills.
* demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills.
* must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
* ability to make good decisions and support company policies in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
* must be self-motivated and client service oriented to maintain effective working relationships within a multi-cultural business environment.
* ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
* bilingual: english and spanish, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; portuguese is a plus.
* available to travel up to 25% of the time to international locations for 1 to 2 weeks - this may or may not happen - most likely as this role expands there may be a trip required to head office in the usa - very infrequent requirement.
* 100% remote position.
