This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with international regulations, implementing environmental sustainability programs, and safeguarding the well-being of all personnel, including executives. The incumbent will drive operational excellence, mitigate risks, and ensure that the terminal operates safely, securely, and sustainably while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.responsibilitiesdevelop, implement, and continuously improve hsse policies, procedures, and governance documents to manage hsse risks effectively.align hsse strategies with corporate objectives, regulatory frameworks, and business drivers.lead and inspire the hsse team, fostering a culture of safety, security, and environmental stewardship.ensure compliance with national and international hsse regulations, including imo, isps code, marpol and solas.monitor changes in legislation and advise senior management on implications and necessary actions.conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.oversee the development and delivery of hsse training programs to ensure all personnel are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills.promote continuous learning and professional development within the hsse team.engage with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends.develop, implement, and test emergency response plans for various operational scenarios.coordinate emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.lead environmental impact programs to minimize the terminal’s ecological footprint.ensure compliance with environmental standards such as iso 9001 & 14001.promote sustainability through waste reduction, energy efficiency initiatives, and responsible resource management.coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to address security concerns, ensuring terminal and executive protection.manage the security of the terminal, personnel, and executives, implementing high-level security protocols for sensitive areas.supervise the bp security manager, ensuring the safety of staff and assets through comprehensive security measures and personnel protection strategies.conduct security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities, enhance protection measures, and reduce security threats.develop and implement tailored security plans for the protection of terminal executives and key personnel.work closely with the security manager to establish executive protection protocols, including transportation, personal security, and event security coordination.regularly assess potential threats to executive safety and ensure a robust and adaptive security posture.oversee the bp hse manager, ensuring the safe execution of operational activities and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.ensure proper reporting of hsse-related incidents, near misses, and compliance violations, implementing corrective actions as needed.foster a culture of proactive safety management, ensuring all teams are aligned with the highest standards of operational safety.serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding hsse matters.prepare and present regular hsse performance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry bodies, and other relevant organizations.develop and monitor key performance indicators (kpis) for hsse activities, including security, environmental, and health & safety metrics.prepare detailed reports on hsse performance, incidents, and compliance status.utilize data analytics to drive continuous improvement in hsse practices.educationbachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial safety, environmental science, or a related field.
