Under the general direction of the lean manufacturing engineering manager, develops and implements new processes and machinery, standard times and manufacturing procedures for the fabrications and assembly areas. The basic objectives of this manufacturing engineer are: keeping processes safe, efficient, zero waste, as well as the continuous improvement and cost reduction of all current processes.
also responsible for the successful implementation of new products and major design changes for the facility. The basic objective is to achieve the on-time delivery, the efficiency, quality, cost, and safety targets. This senior engineer is also responsible for maintaining the current plant layout and for evaluating the future requirements of growth and footprint capacity optimization.
utilize our people talents to produce at the pace of customer demand using optimal resources achieving lowest cost with six sigma quality across the entire value stream.
principal duties:
* follow jcms as our business best practices guideline.
* design and provide production lines equipment, tools and machinery to make processes safe, efficient and compliant with quality standards.
* determine standard times for assembly of every new product made in the plant and report it to the engineering department.
* responsible for the selection and implementation of new processes, machines and/or tooling necessary for current processes adjustments to support npis or business strategy for capacity adjustments.
* determine and control all manufacturing capabilities within the plant and report them to the engineering department, as well as improve utilization and capacity of machining centers.
* responsible for standard work procedures, layout design, process flow, time studies, balance line, playbooks and routing (sap) creation and/or updates.
* develop and implement new methods and/or technologies to improve current processes or set new processes according to safety, quality and customer requirements.
* responsible for attaining efficiency targets during the ramp-up phase of the implementation.
* select and supervise all the contractors needed to implement new processes, layout changes and/or improvement projects inside the factory including the technical aspects of their work as well as compliance with safety rules.
* apply dmaic methodology and lean tools to lead and/or implement improvement projects in different processes to improve site kpis, including those in the 4 panels charts by using problem solving tools.
* support all manufacturing & ci initiatives, including best practice implementation.
* work closely with other team members as a focus group providing a fast response to solve problems and improve processes.
* use manufacturing or industrial engineering knowledge to create a data basis of the current state for analysis and support decision making for improvements.
