We are seeking an experienced accounting controller to join our team in mexico and oversee the financial operations of our company's operations in the region.
as the accounting controller, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting, local tax, and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth in mexico.
*key responsibilities*:
- prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with mexican accounting standards.
- meet local tax requirements by preparing and submitting accurate and timely reports.
- develop and implement corporate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with local regulations.
- liaise with the corporate finance team in the us to ensure alignment and integration of accounting financial reporting and compliance.
- manage the relationship with local external auditors and tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance the company's financial performance.
- provide strategic financial advice to the local management team, supporting the achievement of the company's objectives in mexico.
- mentor and develop the direct report(s) team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
*qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in accounting, cpa or equivalent certification preferred.
- minimum 10 years of experience as a controller or accounting manager in a multinational organization, preferably with exposure to the mexican market.
- thorough understanding of mexican accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial situations.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- fluency in english and spanish, both written and verbal required.
