the tis packaging and conveyance engineer will be responsible for taking an enterprising look across the entire manufacturing process.
they will be responsible for creating a workflow that begins at product conception and goes through all aspects of the manufacturing process.
*what you will do in your role*:
- provide packaging solutions to the various tis division manufacturing facilities and groups that meet or exceed program requirements
- design, test and validate expendable and returnable packaging solutions, including injection molded and thermoformed trays, plastic totes, dividers, tubes, pallets, barrier bags and corrugated cartons
- utilize the packaging design checklist to understand packaging requirements, such as esd, automation, moisture protection, and container and pallet size restrictions
- develop the packaging validation plan for packaging designs per molex/customer testing standards.
work with lab to coordinate testing, evaluate results and submit report to cross-functional team for review/approval.
- collaborate with cross-functional team, and or directly with the customer, to determine the customers packaging specifications as well as their end use expectations to create a packaging plan that supports the manufacturing process (wip through final assembly)
- participate in cross-functional meetings and product design reviews, assuring the proposed packaging design meets or exceeds expectations, adjusting as needed throughout design process.
- create rfqs for packaging materials such as trays, tubes, tape and reel, cartons, etc.
- interface with internal departments (manufacturing, purchasing, quality, etc.)
to ensure product and package design objectives are met in a timely manner.
provide packaging design samples internally and externally as needed.
- support existing products with cost savings initiatives, quality concerns, pcns, etc.
- work internally to provide 3d cad models and 2d drawings
- create packaging specifications and work instructions
- submitting molex packaging data into customer databases

- bachelor's degree in packaging, engineering, or related field.
- 1-3 years minimum experience in packaging or industrial/manufacturing engineering or related field.
- english speaking
- good decision-making ability

- basic pc ms office skills and software knowledge
- good written and verbal skills for clear and concise communication

- knowledge of packaging materials and processes
*what will put you ahead*:
- 5 years minimum experience in packaging or industrial/manufacturing engineering field
- experience with automotive packaging standards and requirements
- working knowledge of 2d and 3d cad software, siemens nx preferred
- knowledge of basic manufacturing processes
