the role of the *manager it strategic supplier management *is to establish a strong governance framework for managing a large supplier eco-system as part of the vendor management office/supplier management function. To be able to understand good governance with all key strategic suppliers and create a model that drives value from governance meetings.
This role will interface directly with suppliers, manage msa and sow contract escalations, as well as rate cards. Working very closely with it procurement to ensure that standards are upheld and good governance is always at the forefront whilst building a strong relationship with suppliers.
The sr manager it strategic supplier management will work with the governance and delivery teams regarding standards, policies, and processes to drive consistency across the organization. The service delivery team will report to others in the organization but will have a significant link to the sr manager of it strategic supplier management.
This role will engage in strategic alignment and reporting up to and including the it senior leadership team (slt).
*develops and maintains the multiple supplier strategy and value management approach*
- develop a framework supplier governance which includes weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews with suppliers in multiple technology domains.
- develop standards and works with procurement to maintain best practices and training to the organization around competitive bidding to ensure consistent supplier selection consistent with procurement policy across $500m in global spend
- responsible for developing and driving technology rfq selection globally
- implements a selection tool to be used by it delivery leads when seeking technology purchases
- works with the it delivery leads to define the business requirements and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best practices and conformance with sow standards
- drive continuous improvement by benchmarking with best practices in the industry - ensuring jci is best in class
- responsible for managing corporate level improvement initiatives for the business group including rollout, metrics tracking, coordination with initiative owners, and reporting to the organization.
- determine the strategy for the effective use of the provider’s services
- ensure alignment of strategy with the overall company strategy
*ensure that service provider’s performance is meeting the needs of the business*
- review and support the balanced scorecard for sourcing to measure executive metrics for reporting to more senior members of the jci organization
- ensure appropriate engagement of jci stakeholders and executives
- create and implement a value leakage strategy and metrics, to be reported quarterly to the executive steering committee
- create and maintain a management environment that understands and embraces changes that will occur over time in the services, relationship, and strategy
- provide leadership and guidance to the jci governance organization.
- work with the service provider account executive and the service provider account manager to progress the goals and objectives of the arrangement.
- resolve escalated issues in accordance with the governance escalation procedures.
- ensure the terms and conditions of the contract and rate card are satisfied
- provide feedback to service provider on key service provider resources assigned to the account
- ensure that appropriate business continuity and other risk mitigation plans are in place.
- ensure appropriate escalation processes are in place to resolve service/ policy issues
- provide early warning for key delivery problems
- ensure reasonable auditability of service provider processes
- manage market and industry intelligence activities to monitor service provider’s performance against industry standards
- monitor fulfillment of deliverables/ commitments
*work in partnership with key stakeholder groups to ensure overall effectiveness of the supplier*
- serve as primary contact and interface with corporate procurement and legal organization.
- conduct needs assessments and makes recommendations regarding feasibility of service provider’s additional functions and onboarding of any new service providers
- interact on an executive level within and outside jci and service provider organizations to ensure that tactics and activities address the jci’s needs and remain on target throughout any given year.
Minimum qualifications
- *8+ years *of relevant general management experience or progression of senior leadership positions of increasing complexity, including management of a matrixed organization
- demonstrated success leading large scale initiatives with enterprise level impact
- knowledge of large global business environment, service requirements and culture
- experience in managing vendor/service provider relationships and large contracts
- strong negotiation, influencing and problem resolution skills with multilingual firm
