project controller specialist job description
location: monterrey, mexico (hybrid)
kalypso is seeking a project controller in mexico to help its operations team primarily with internal work.
this person may contribute to a variety of projects including, but not limited to the following:
main responsibilities
primary duties of a jr. Project controller for a group of executives' client service engagements include:
- collect and manage master versions of proposals, sows, piws, msas, pos, and any other project documentation.
understands basic corporate and commercial legal framework of these documents.
- run weekly reports detailing the status of each project, including actual billings and expenses vs planned budget.
- conduct analytical review of project reports; evaluating projects' status and supplying partners with forecast and correction measures if needed.
- manage invoices of varying complexity through sap structure.
- collections and unbilled receivables management across multiple countries and regions.
- timesheet and expense approvals.
- monitor and report on budget deviations in multiple currencies.
- period reporting requirements for assigned practice.
- work with finance team and other project controllers for project updates and process improvements.
- monitor and update crm opportunities.
- contribute to the development of project deliverables, when necessary.
secondary duties may include:
- coordinating cross-functional work activities across kalypso.
- forecasting executives' budgets and bookings on engagements.
- various internal projects and initiatives relating to practice, executive, or operations team.
requirements & qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience preferred.
- ba, bs degree in finance, accounting, business, math, or business economics* (relevant major expected).
- ms, ma degree or experience related to auditing, controlling, business administration, international business, and/or taxation a plus.
- strong academic performance: minimum 87.5/100 gpa* highly preferred.
- bookkeeping experience.
- previous experience invoicing and managing accounts receivable, sap experience a plus.
- experience with an understanding of vat (value-added tax) across and between multiple countries.
- proficiency in ms office, especially excel and power point.
- experience with ms powerbi and data modelling tools a plus.
- demonstrated ability to work independently without day-to-day oversight.
