this position manages all commercial finance, revenue growth management, and financial planning and analysis matters for mexico commercial business unit.
a key function of the role is to provide analytical support, insights, advice, and counsel on key business issues to the mexico organization, leading to profitable business growth and efficient allocation of resources.
overseeing financial planning & analysis efforts for the market, the senior finance manager is responsible for maintaining up-to-date visibility of ongoing and forecasted business performance (variance analysis, rolling forecasting, etc.
), along with ensuring timely and effective communication with regional and corporate stakeholders via ongoing business processes (monthly business reviews, rolling forecast submission, etc.)
and ad-hoc analysis.
along with their team, provides key and strategic support to the sales team and the mexico overall market and distribution channels (wholesale, retail, dsd, on-premise, and e-commerce).
this position also collaborates closely not only with the sales and marketing teams but also with market information & digital transformation and sales operations and planning teams to produce accurate business analysis, insights, and forecasts.
the senior finance manager leads, coaches, and acts as a role model of brown-forman values and culture to the mexico organization and collaborates directly with the controller in the design of controls and policies that guarantee the correct booking (according to us gaap and sox guidance and regulations).
*what you will experience*:
- acts as the liaison between the company's financial targets (full p&l, strategic plans) and the commercial operations of the business, acting as an enabler, facilitator, and business partner.
- provides strategic guidance for high-impact decision making, strong commercial and financial advice on margin management, investment, and complex operational issues, helping to achieve both volume and profit goals.
- interact and mediate with marketing and sales for resource allocation, prioritization, and monitoring of financial resources, by demonstrating the ability to understand the brand strategies and frameworks (e.g.
'how do brands grow') and question/challenge the brand activities, balancing them out against each other and against commercial (sales) activities and among the different brands in the portfolio.
- the senior finance manager is the key finance partner and strategic advisor for the commercial leadership team.
with their team, this role is responsible for revenue growth management (rgm) efforts, ensuring all pillars of rgm (price positioning, channel pack price architecture, promotional efficiency, customer mix management, trade terms and distributor margin) are brought to life, optimized and effectively managed within the market:
- leads the design, implementation, socialization, maintenance, and use of administrative and analytical tools and processes that can help the sales teams with their resource administration and maximize value creation through the development and implementation of price, revenue, and margin capture strategies.
furthermore, provides financial advice regarding the viability of their commercial plans, campaigns, activations, establishes clear protocols for promotional pre & post evaluation, etc.
- works along with the sales director and senior sales/channel managers in order to build the commercial planning calendar and proposes strategies to maintain the adequate pricing balance and profitability of our products across distribution channels/clients based on the market and brand strategy.
- support and advise on the development of trade terms using a pay for performance approach.
- evaluates and validates pricing, ensuring alignment vs. strategy across channels, proper relative positioning vs. key competitors, a balanced approach between the client's needs and the pricing of our products, etc.
- analyzes relevant promotional indicators in our industry, detects potential opportunities, and propose improvements to our promotional practices.
