we are looking for a *senior research analyst* to join wood mackenzie’s power and renewables team in *mexico city*. The power and renewables research team provides integrated subscription, research and advisory services to inform and support our client’s commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing electric power industry. Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, and grid technologies, with our global power and fuels modeling and analytical capabilities, wood mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain, technology costs, policy and market issues, fundamentals-based outlooks, price forecasting, asset valuation, and commodity market issues.
The senior research analyst will be the main responsible for onshore wind data collection for north america and, together with the regional lead research analyst, will contribute to the analysis of the north american onshore wind power market, which includes the u.s. and canada. The research analyst will work closely with the rest of the north american wind team to ensure a timely and accurate provision of all relevant data.
He/ she is expected to conduct original quantitative research on the market and support the publication of written reports, address customer inquiries and participate in custom research engagements and/or consulting projects. The analyst is also expected to correspond with main stakeholders within the north american onshore wind industry on analysis and data collection regarding the wind power landscape and general market dynamics.
They will also lead the publication of onshore wind global datasets, part of our global wind market offering. Key responsibilities of the role will include the creation, update and optimization of large datasets and liaison with the global wind team to ensure deliverables are published in a timely manner.

- create, monitor and maintain relevant onshore wind data for the region by conducting primary and secondary desk research on onshore wind power in north america, including market dynamics, business models, market developments and financial strategies.
- own and be the project leader on regional and global onshore wind databases and analytical models such as: global wind turbine order database; wind asset transactions database; wind power company financials database; wind power project installation database.
- implement sophisticated database systems with user-friendly extraction tools to improve the efficiency of ongoing research activities.
- contribute to the global quarterly wind power market outlook by providing all necessary information to the regional lead analyst for them to produce the annual installation forecast for the u.s. and canada over a 10-year period.
- liaise on an ongoing basis with the regional lead analysts and the broader power & renewables team to ensure the timely and accurate provision of all relevant data for all onshore wind research publications.
