position overview:
we are looking for someone who is passionate about financial services & the fintech industry, who possesses a deep understanding of the pdl (payday loan) business in mexico and understands the importance of improvement in processes.
the kyc manager will successfully lead the underwriting (uw)/know your customer department of our mexican branch, credito365, as well as the telesales and customer support areas. The priority is to lead the process of verification and assessment of credit applications submitted by clients, driving the team to growth through excellent performance metrics and operational results, while maintaining a strong loans portfolio per best practices in the pdl industry.
key responsibilities:
kyc:
* ensure that proper risk assessment is conducted for all new and existing customers.
* ensure smooth and compliant onboarding of customers, reviewing and approving customer identification documents.
* identify potential kyc risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* coordinate with other departments (product, legal, etc.) to optimize the onboarding journey while maintaining compliance.
* implement and manage ongoing monitoring of transactions to detect suspicious activities or red flags.
* drive the department through growth, continuously upgrading & optimizing the team to always have enough resources with the right skills and capabilities.
tele-sales:
* develop and implement effective telesales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
* analyze telesales data and reports to provide insights and recommendations to top management.
* coordinate with other departments (e.g., marketing, product development) to align telesales activities with broader business objectives.
customer support:
* ensure the customer support team delivers excellent service to customers via phone, email, and other communication channels.
* develop and implement customer service policies, procedures, and standards to improve customer experience.
general:
* implement performance metrics (individual and team goals) and a result-oriented culture through performance reviews.
* drive initiatives to maximize the efficiency & automation of department processes to minimize credit risks and maximize overall customer satisfaction.
* be a team player, working effectively with the mexico uw team and with the hq risk management team.
role qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in kyc, aml, or compliance roles, preferably in a startup or fast-paced fintech environment.
* in-depth understanding of kyc, aml, ctf, and sanctions regulations in mexico.
* knowledge of digital tools and automated kyc systems.
* familiarity with call center operations and telesales technologies (e.g., autodialers, lead management software).
* in-depth understanding of credit bureau processes applicable in mexico.
* experience in implementing additional tools for maximum efficiency.
* advanced english proficiency.
