a.
responsible to manage the activities of the manufacturing supervisors assigned to the production area to achieve the goals of safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery and personnel.
b. Liaison between manufacturing supervisors and business unit manager.
ensures that the company policies, procedures and objectives are implemented, respected, maintained and properly documented on the production floor.
ensures adequate and on time support from service departments to the manufacturing floor, so that production quality, quantity and timing, is not compromised.
reports to business unit manager information relative to the indicators critical to the performance of the business unit.

* *primarily job responsibilities*
1.
direct and supervise the production activities of the manufacturing group.
2.
manage the manufacturing work schedule to ensure that products are delivered to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
2.1.
maintains close contact with production control department to review yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily forecast
2.2.
based on sales forecast, determines number of dl headcounts to properly comply with adequate supply to customer
2.3.
leads the fast response meetings, qrqc and/or any other manufacturing floor meeting focused to ensure/improve quality.
supports all quality initiatives and ensures they are properly implemented on manufacturing floor
3.
maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and leading personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources: maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
items of safety concern are to be reported to the business unit manager for correction as required
3.1.
leads the 3q6s activities to ensure manufacturing floor complies with company standard and that it is maintained
3.2.
ensure the safety of the manufacturing employees by enforcing safety policies for the department.
immediately escalate any issue that could potentially compromise any employee safety
4.
manage the communication with manufacturing supervisors and team leaders (communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results) to ensure projects are successfully completed and kpi (including, but not limited to: productivity, adherence, scrap, downtime, headcount, biq (built in quality), lpa (layered process audits)) goals are met
5.
setting employee work schedules and production goals; establishing work priorities and resolving problems to mitigate schedule/budget impacts
5.1.
responsible to support business unit manager to determine, based on customer forecast, and fg inventory levels, need to work overtime, add capacity, point out line re-balance needs to ensure production goals are met on time, considering company budget.
work along with business unit manager as necessary to review financial impact and if necessary get top management approval before proceeding
5.2.
responsible to, based on the above described considerations, prioritize products to be produced to ensure best and most effective utilization of resources
5.3.
responsible to ensure that any given production line output is performing according to engineering defined standard time.
responsible to ensure production supervisors are monitoring hour by hour production and immediately reacting to any issue that could be preventing from reaching the hourly goal
6.
responsible to implement/support implementation accordingly for continuous improvement activities and projects that will increase productivity and decrease waste and inefficiencies on the production floor
7.
recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
8.
develops, in coordination with business unit manager, training needs and ensure these are communicated to the human resources (organizational development) area for employees to increase core competencies and ensure new employee training
9.
monitor the performance of all manufacturing employees; administers performance reviews, coaching and discipline as necessary.
10.
completes tasks assigned by the business unit manager.
