What you will do:
under general direction of the chillers north america organization and in conformance with corporate and division policies and procedures, the finance project manager leads the financial process to assure accurate and timely preparation, analysis, and communication of data necessary to support capital and strategic projects across the johnson controls chillers north america network.
the finance project manager provides financial analysis, advice, and recommendations to help project managers make business decisions, improve profits and return on investment.

this role will require to work cross functionally, with operations, procurement and project management teams across the johnson controls organization.
responsibilities:
* preparation and review the financial justifications for capital projects across the chillers north america network (stiva, cienega, durango and san antonio)
* track capital project spending, timing and cost impact against project plan, forecasts and budget to understand and report variances.
* work with project managers to assure timely capitalization of equipment placed in use.
* stakeholder communication: liaise with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and provide regular update on financial progress
* risk management: identify and evaluate project financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
* performs special studies and business case analyses at request of business division management.
* provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
* ensure adherence to corporate and divisional accounting/internal control procedures, sox compliance and reporting requirements.
what we look for:
* master’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent through experience.
* 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent trough different experience.
* prior experience with capital project management, business case financial analysis and profitability studies.
* proficiency in financial software and tools: onestream, sap, microsoft excel.
* excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* strong leadership and communication skills.
* ability to work cross-functionally and in a fast-paced environment
* travel requirement: 10%
