General management and strategy:
- lead, coordinate and track manufacturing engineering activities in the region (e.g.
automation, energy saving, process standardization, industry 4.0 activities)
- translate central mpe strategy into action plans for the plants and ensure the implementation
- enable the achievement of manufacturing engineering targets (e.g.
cost improvement target for automation)
- review and align ecrs (e.g.
cost improvement, expansion) together with the plants and within the mpe management
- initiate and control investments for production equipment (e.g.
production machines, assembly equipment, automation technology, etc.)
and manufacturing engineering equipment (e.g.
for software tools, equipment for machine installation/maintenance)
- interface between regional plants and central functions in order to gather local mpe standards
- execution of workshops with the local manufacturing engineering / automation engineering at the mfs locations to identify improvement potential
- lead or participate in and/or steer global or local manufacturing engineering related and cross-functional projects
standardization:
- ensure regional implementation of central manufacturing engineering standards
- provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding manufacturing engineering and production processes (e.g.
smart automation standards), production equipment (e.g.
machines, human machine interface, ergonomics, equipment, layout), quality (e.g.
test methods, equipment) within the bu or divisional functions
project and knowledge management:
- strong teamwork with plant functions, regional operations, plant management and other internal/external leaders.
especially cooperate with manufacturing & process engineering to develop and spread out standards towards mfs plants.
- organize know-how management and foster the network and collaboration between the plants
- continuously reporting of project status to mpe managment
- document lessons-learned and distribute gained experiences and knowledge within the mpe community
