we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
vice-president operational resilience risk -wholesale
role purpose:
you will ensure that all businesses, functions and entities within global corporate and commercial banking and markets and securities services units, establishes and adheres to standards for the management of operational risk as set out in the group’s framework for enterprise risk and operational risk management, and that non-financial with a core focus on resilience risks are managed within appetite. You will have responsibility to provide independent non-financial risk oversight over these core businesses with a focus on operational and resilience risks. Given the complexities of these businesses, the role holder’s risk acumen and business subject matter expertise, will be called on frequently to provide independent perspectives and review and challenge over the risk and control profile and act as a trusted advisor to the business.
main activities:
1. your oversight responsibilities will include demonstrating leadership, stature and credibility while exuding influence across the three lines of defense over the execution practices over non-financial risk management.
2. ensuring the integrity and timely completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the group’s risk and control system of record (helios) is proactively maintained, as well as challenging areas you deem worthy of further evaluation.
3. you will be required to lead and drive independent thematic reviews which include your challenges and overall opinion.
4. attending the business non-financial risk and control governance forums, you will be expected be viewed as a leader and given your business expertise, provide both operational risk oversight and robust and timely risk steward challenge of the first line of defense (1lod) view of the resilience risk profile as required. You will be a leading voice in influencing governance practices continually meet expected standards.
requirements
5. extensive experience working in the corporate and investment banking division of a pier financial institution. Holds strong knowledge of the key institutional banking business activities and the association operations.
6. maintains excellent communication and influencing skills and possess gravitas and strong leadership type traits.
7. has good knowledge of risk management frameworks, with a focus on non-financial risk management
8. consistently and eagerly works on enhancing and upgrading his/her skills leveraging internal and external sources.
9. maintains a positive, upbeat attitude and work ethic and works well in the teamwork environment.
10. proficient in microsoft office applications and demonstrates an innovative and proactive approach to building new and advanced mi and reporting analytics.
11. bachelor’s degree or equivalent at minimum; graduate degree a plus
