*about the role*:
as the r&d site leader for latam, you will establish circleci's technical presence in the region, build teams from the ground up, and ensure alignment with our global r&d strategy.
you will be crucial in executing our fy26 vision of customer growth, self-serve acceleration, and operational excellence.
*key responsibilities*:
*strategic leadership*:
- partner with global r&d leadership to implement our technical strategy
- drive initiatives that support our key objectives: self-serve growth, customer retention, sales enablement, and developer experience
- establish relationships with key stakeholders across product, design, and operations.
- contribute to global r&d strategic planning and decision-making
*site development & team building*:
- build and scale our latam r&d organization from the ground up
- develop hiring strategies to attract and retain top engineering talent in the region
- create an inclusive, high-performing culture that emphasizes continuous learning and innovation
- establish operational frameworks that enable seamless collaboration with global teams
*operational excellence*:
- drive operational efficiency and delivery excellence across teams
- implement and refine processes that will allow rapid, high-quality software delivery
- ensure adherence to engineering best practices and quality standards
- monitor and report on key performance indicators aligned with business objectives

- foster a culture of mentorship, growth, and technical excellence
- drive initiatives to develop and retain engineering talent
- promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging within the organization

*qualifications*:
*leadership experience*:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software development and engineering leadership
- proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations in latam
- experience working in globally distributed, high-growth technology companies
- strong understanding of the latam tech ecosystem and talent market
*technical acumen*:
- deep understanding of modern software development practices and technologies
- experience with continuous integration and delivery systems
- ability to guide technical decisions and architecture at a strategic level
- track record of delivering complex technical projects at scale
*management & communication*:
- excellence in cross-cultural communication and relationship-building
- experience managing diverse, distributed teams
- strong track record of developing and mentoring engineering leaders
- ability to influence and align stakeholders across organizational levels
