Moxi, a global mortgage group, llc company is looking for an assistant controller. This is an important role in our organization and is an exciting one! This new member of our team will be responsible for daily finance and accounting tasks that keep our engines running on both sides of the border. The growth of our business has accelerated considerably in the last few months and this pace is exciting, thrilling, and the primary driver for adding this role to our team. We are well-capitalized and seek to grow our business by 20x over the course of the next 18 months.

We provide purchase money and rate/term and cash-out financing on everything from new construction condo developments to custom homes featured in world-renowned architecture and travel publications. Over the past 4 years, we have worked tirelessly with the mexican government to create a proprietary legal structure that delivers a reliable process for non-mexican nationals to not only own property in mexico, but to do so in highly desirable coastal regions that were previously classified as restricted zones. *ideally you have/are*:
- minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting with some experience in a controller/accounting role
- fluent in english (written + verbal) with a *very high* proficiency
- experience working with a distributed team across multiple countries
- highly organized
- detail oriented
- degree
- familiarity with us and/or mx accounting systems
- familiarity/experience with cross-border funds movement
- strong microsoft excel skills
- reliable transportation for in-person payment requirements
- an exemplary compliance record; you consistently hold yourself to the highest standards of ethical conduct

- a strong technical aptitude, comfort with a nearly paper-less work environment and a desire to improve processes with technology

- preferred/nice-to-have: experience in loan servicing, mortgage origination, and/or financial services businesses - particularly those in a highly regulated environment
- preferred: valid passport/visa and ability to occasionally travel to the united states
*responsibilities - assistant controller*
reporting to and working closely with director of finance and colleagues in the us and mexico, you will:
- track daily cash movements, as needed
- manage internal operational processes with respect to collection of pass-through funds collected in the us for further credit to vendors in mx; maintain/perfect reporting for such funds flow
- reconcile/record keep client balances for loans in process and coordinate cross-functionally to assist with vendor ordering and payments in mx
- prepare/submit/audit monthly investor remittance reporting
- complete all bank account reconciliations for mx bank accounts across all 5 mx entities
- complete all in-country payments to vendors timely and effectively manage cash positions
- liase with us sub-servicer to ensure all in-country payments are made timely, regularly review sub-servicer reporting and reconcile accordingly; assist with funds transfers across segregated accounts with respect to us servicing impound balances
- manage record keeping in accordance with us/mx standards
- own weekly merchant account reconciliation
- assist with preparation of company financial statements and investor
