*job description*:
we are looking for a project manager to be based in leon, guanajuato, mexico.
this job includes frequent travel to client project sites.
project managers lead environmental site assessment and remediation projects for our clients.
clients include industrial and commercial companies across mexico (and latin america) who require written reports and communications in both "english" and "spanish".

what you will be doing:
- plan, implement, and supervise phase i and phase ii environmental site assessments and soil, soil vapor, and ground water investigation and remediation projects.
- develop and implement effective health and safety plans to monitor and ensure the health and safety of site personnel.
- analyze environmental data and contaminant migration pathways.
- perform waste characterization to assess the requirements for remediation and waste disposal.
- estimate remediation costs, evaluate remedial technologies, and process options.
- develop and implement effective closure strategies to bring sites to closure with the state regulatory programs.
- compose client facing technical reports and deliverables (in english and spanish as required).
- coach and guide environmental project team - peer review and quality check deliverables.
- interact with current and potential clients and assist in business development and preparation of proposals for new projects.
- interact and develop relationships with regulatory agencies that can be leveraged for our client's benefit.
- represent company to the client in a professional manner.
- make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy.
*qualifications*:
- minimum bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, chemical engineering, geology, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in environmental assessment and/or environmental remediation
- proven track record of business development - new client development and expansion of existing client relationships
- self-motivated, and able to leverage client relationships to develop work
- strong written and verbal communication skills (english and spanish)
- ability to write detailed technical client reports
- ability to interact with executive level clients, banks, attorneys, and regulators to communicate complex technical issues
- strong project management skills; ability to complete projects within schedule and budget with a high degree of quality and customer service
- must be able to successfully execute and prioritize multiple tasks
- frequent travel to client sites in mexican and latin american client sites.
valid driver's license required
- ability to walk job sites during field activities, sometimes on uneven terrain
- ability to carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity
