Job description
coordinate, review and ensure compliance with cemex automation engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications and standards during the development and execution of the basic and detailed electrical and automation engineering required for worldwide studies and projects, also considering the principles of health, safety, quality, cost and time; applying the methodologies, process and procedures of the electrical engineering department.
main responsibilities
1. coordinate, supervises and manages the development and deliver for construction the basic and detailed automation engineering, as well as the follow up of the schedules, which shall be completed according to the master schedule and correct any deviations that may occur, manage the purchase of electrical concepts for the project and participate in the project startup up to stabilization and formal closure, side by side and well-coordinated with the other disciplines project team. (automation eng: control system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams, control and instrumentation schematics, plc/io internal wiring diagrams, process control system communications, functional description for programming, start-stop sequences, machine and areas interlocks, field devices and io list, etc.)
2. active participation in projects and studies through the preliminary execution of proposals for automation related equipment’s sizing and selection. Plc / io related hardware, scada related equipment’s, plc and scada application programming, etc.
3. support the projects construction team during project execution, startup and commissioning stages, providing immediate and effective solutions in order to ensure cost, quality, and execution time. As well as active participation during the startup and commissioning of the project in the automation topics mainly.
4. participate in the evaluation of global electrical & automation installation technologies and equipment’s suppliers to keep up to date the cemex standards.

5. coordinate with multidisciplinary, multifunctional, and multicultural engineers and engineering companies during the development of the project.
6. assure compliance of all projects with cemex automation engineering design criteria, specifications, and standards.
7. participate during all stages of the project from engineering, purchases up to start up and commissioning. Sharing the conceptual design criteria of the project as well as the equipment’s involved to all needed.
qualifications
8. level of educations: master degree. Preferably automatic control related master’s degree and/or sufficient proven experience in plc/hmi selection and programming.
9. area of study: administration, sciences, electrical engineering, automation engineering. Automation equipment’s selections, control and instrumentation engineering revision. Cement and concrete production knowledge preferably.
10. knowledge of pc programs, word, excel, powerpoint and others
11. specify knowledge: cad, autocad general knowledge, plc programming software knowledge (like schneider unity, ab studio 5000, siemens tia portal/step7) scada programming software’s (like: schneider vijeo citect, hybrid dcs, flsa ecs, ab factory talk, emerson delta v) field hmi programming development (schneider magellis vijeo designer, ab panel view fact talk, siemens wincc/tia, etc.)
12. spanish native desirable, english 90%
13. 1 year experience (preferably) cement and/or mining related projects/equipment’s/commissioning experience.
14. 3 years experience on automation engineering projects (engineering firms, equipment selection-specifications, process control system plc and/or scada programming).
15. general knowledge of cement, ready-mix and aggregate industry related equipment’s and installations.
16. general knowledge of engineering and projects process development.
17. good knowledge on plc/scada/hmi programming,
18. good knowledge on automation related engineering like control system architecture, pi&d diagrams, machine control schematics, functional descriptions and instrumentation.
19. good knowledge on automation related systems equipment’s selection, like, plc/io hardware and software, pc and servers, operation console, fiber optic, ethernet networks and communication, etc.
