Supervision of product engineering group and warranty support, research, maintenance and product design improvement, validation and development. Responsible for customer contact to follow up on engineering and product changes for continuous improvement, as well as warranty and corrective action support.
key responsibilities:
1. management and development of the group in charge, using and updating procedures and methods within the quality/engineering area.
2. training planning of the group to level the technical knowledge and generate technical competencies according to the indicators.
3. knowledge and scope of current and future projects for decision making positively impacting budgets, profit margins, market, customers, competitors, business forecasts, legal implications, pricing, roi.
4. monitoring and maintenance of test vehicle fleet.
5. understanding and interpretation of organizational objectives, local and global.
6. use of technical skills, training and experience applied to engineering work, actively providing direction to the pe/warranty support group for execution and achievement of in-plant metrics.
7. transfer and use of coaching for the group to develop the personnel in charge.
8. learning/application of borgwarner standards and practices, suggestions for updates on current procedures for continuous improvement.
9. engineering project management and support, troubleshooting and integration with the cross-functional team.
10. training and continuous use of methods and tools of the automotive industry.
11. organization, planning, development and management of the group in charge.
12. continuous monitoring of the achievement of the group's objectives, providing feedback in a timely manner minimizing the impact to the end customer and internal customers.
